RESEARCH

The IBFM’s remit covers a wide range of physiological research, from study of molecules to the whole organism functioning and to the implementation of research findings into clinical practice. This strategy is pursued by a truly multi-disciplinary approach supported by the expertise and knowledge currently available within IBFM, which can be grouped in the following key research areas:

  • Biomedical Technology
  • Chemistry
  • Cellular and Molecular Biology
  • Proteomics
  • Neurobiology and Functional Neuroanatomy
  • Neurophysiology and Neuropathophysiology
  • Functional Neurology
  • Cognitive Sciences
  • Cardiology
  • Oncology
  • Exercise physiology

Current research activity is divided into thematic research and technological research, and it is delivered through a range of advanced technology developed by IBFM laboratories on its own and working in partnership with other organisations such as the Dipartimento di Scienze Chirurgiche - Sezione di Tecnologie Biomediche of Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, and the Dipartimento di Neuroscienze, Oftalmologia e Genetica of Università di Genova.
