MISSION

IBFM activity is focussed on the study of physiologic and pathogenetic mechanisms investigated at molecular. organ and whole organism level.  This goal is achieved mainly through imaging, molecular biology and physiologic signals analysis.  The main fields of investigation are:

• Bioimaging to investigate and diagnose phaenomena linked to aging, neurodegenerative disorders, Oncology, cardiology and metabolic disorders.
• Neurophysiology and neuro physiopathology both experimental in animal models and cognitive in humans.
• Genetics and proteomics to investigate and diagnose phaenomena linked to aging, neurodegenerative disorders, Oncology, cardiology and metabolic disorders.
• Exercise physiology to measure bioenergetics and biomechanics in normal and pathologic conditions and during extreme endurance.

• Radiobiology for understanding the biological effects of ionizing radiation towards a personalization of treatments.
